Nwabuko said the University was aware of the plight and frustration the students had to go through and had taken a holistic approach to resolving all the issues.

She said all complaints concerning the External System ‎would be resolved in a few months.

According to her, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, had inaugurated the Taskforce on Feb. 29, primarily ‎to resolve all outstanding issues relating to examination and results of the External System.

Nwabuko said the Taskforce had adopted an Information Communication Technology (ICT) based strategy toward actualising the mandate it was given.

“The volume of work in terms of number of sessions and population of students, demands the deployment of appropriate technologies.

“While treading softly, we have reached a point where the solutions are now accessible. It is our expectation that a good percentage of these results would be resolved.

“All students who met the requirement for graduation ‎would graduate in next couple of months,’’ the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quotes her as saying.

Nwabuko explained that, so far Ad-hoc staffs were employed to beef up the team charged with uploading corrected information unto the
Results Data Base.

She said the task force had presented 2,500 backlog of results to the University Senate on April 27 for consideration and subsequent approval.

“A new online platform was developed to enable students view their outstanding ‎courses and communicate their complaints through an online channel.

“New equipment has also been provided to support speedy processing of the results,” Nwabuko said.

She explained that students’ records available in soft copies had been uploaded to a website, where it would be visible to students irrespective of the location.

Nwabuko said that students’ results and graduating status had been displayed online, such that students could download and print out their profiles.

Nwabuko urged the students to assist the Taskforce and ‎visit the students’ website, lodging their complaints comprehensively, stating the courses missed, year or sessions taken. using the online complaint form.

She also advised the students not to approach or make personal contact with anybody, nor pay money to or solicit any undue advantage from anybody.

The Director, LASUES, Dr Steven Ogunpitan, said that the system was on a rescue operation and was being approached with consciousness and speed.

Ogunpitan said that 15 non-academic staff of the university, who worked in the External campuses and are familiar with some of the problems had been redeployed to the main campus‎, Ojo, to join hands with the academic staff.

He said that the system had set target to process at least 3,000 students’ profiles, ready for the University Senate consideration before the end of August.
