LGA Councillor Declared Wanted After Allegedly Stealing 30 Bags Of Grains Meant For His Constituency

A Councillor in Katcha Local Government Area of Niger State, has been declared wanted by the government of the state after allegedly carting away with 30 bags of rice, maize and millet, palliatives meant for distributing to members of his constituency.

 

Vanguard gathered from the Secretary to the Niger State Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Matane, who is also the state chairman Taskforce on COVID-19, that the Councillor(name withheld) was a member of the committee set up to handle the distribution of the grains to his community.

 

The SSG said;

“A Committees was set up in each of the 274 wards in the State, which comprises of Councillor, Party Chairman , Ward Head, and a religious leader to monitor the distribution of the grains of which the Councillor in question is part of.”

 

“Because of this disgraceful act, the Security agents have been ordered to get him arrested for proper investigation and punished appropriately,” the SSG declared.
