Police officers have arrested a  man for reportedly having sexual intercourse with a cat. The suspect, Michael Navage, who lives in Mesa, Arizona, was taken into custody after his neighbor called the police to his flat.

The caller had heard disturbing sounds of a distressed animal from Michael’s flat.

According to his neighbor, it “sounded like the cat was hurt and screaming”. Besides, Michael also “called out for help, saying the cat was stuck on his penis”.

Upon their arrival, the police officers had to break into the suspect’s apartment as he refused to open the door.

Michael was then found in the bath without clothes. He had the cat slightly covered with a towel in his hands and placed it close to his penis region.

However, Michael explained that he was in the bath with the cat and was trying to clean its body with the towel.

A witness soon countered him, saying that Michael shouted continuously at the cat and called it sexually-inclined names.

But he insisted that he did not have sexual intercourse with the animal, and claimed that he had been taking care of it since it was a kitten.

The cat was later taken to a vet. When examined, the vet stated that the cat had “tearing around the surface of the anus as well as superficial wounds, small cuts around the anus area”.

Further checks equally showed that the cat had once had its rib and pelvic bones ruptured, although they had healed up before the last incidence.

Michael has now been charged with offenses such as Animal cruelty and bestiality.

A fake 100 dollar bill and some hard drugs were also discovered in his apartment. He is set to appear in court in April.
