Samantha Markle, Meghan Markle’s estranged elder sister allegedly got turned back by palace security after dropping in unannounced to see her sister.
The 53-year-old has been rather open about the problems she has with her half-sister and routinely criticised the former Hollywood star’s approach towards her wedding and what she called the unfair treatment of their father.
The older Markle was in London to “get a message” across to Meghan
According to British papers, she went to Kensington Palace but was turned away after getting into a verbal stand-off with the Palace guards.
She then handed a letter to be delivered to the Duchess.
“Everybody would love to know what’s in that letter,” Samantha tweeted on Sunday.
According to the Mirror, a source said that this represents an unprecedented move
“This was a huge move on the part of Meghan’s sister to try to see her face to face and the fact she was turned away speaks volumes,” said the source
“This is the closest Meghan has come physically to that side of her family since she married into the royal family but palace staff had clearly been instructed not to allow her access.”
Speaking to British Channel 5 last week, Samantha Markle said, “I’ve always wanted to see London, but really I wanted to make the trip and sort of speak the wishes and thoughts and sentiments of my father, and hopefully get a message to my sister,”
“I wish things could be different,” she said.
Samantha is still supportive of her father and his attempts to reconcile with Meghan, taking to Twitter to say; “Dad only spoke out because he was being ignored and disregarded, My sister and the Royals handled things wrong and everybody knows it.”
