NIPOST staff reject Tinubu’s choice of CEO, bar her from office

The new Chief Executive Officer/Post Master General, Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), Tola Odeyemi experienced a tough first day in office as the service’s workers staged a protest on Monday to reject her appointment.

The workers, who wielded placards and chanted solidarity songs, also barred her from gaining access to her office in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

President Bola Tinubu appointed Odeyemi last week to replace Adeyemi Adepoju.

However, rumour soon circulated that the sacked Adepoju had been  reinstated.

A viral video also circulated on social media in which Adepoju can be seen addressing workers over the purported reinstatement.
