The Chief Executive Officer of Innoson Motors, Mr Innocent Chukwuma was arrested on Tuesday by the EFCC at his residence in Enugu.

His arrest according to the EFCC, was as a result of his refusal to honour an invitation from the anti-graft agency and also for Jumping bail.

Mr Chukwuma is being drilled by a team of EFCC investigators.

According to a statement read by the Head of Media and Publicity for EFCC, “His arrest followed his refusal to honour invitation by the commission having earlier jumped an administrative bail granted him in a case being investigated by the Capital Market and Insurance Fraud Unit of the Commission’s Lagos office.”

However, his company in a tweet accused the EFCC of barging into the accused’s residence without prior invitation and treating him like he was a criminal.

The EFCC on the other hand has denied this claim stated that “Chukwuma rather than honouring invitation by the EFCC, mobilised six truck-loads of thugs pretending to be staff of his company to his residence, where they manhandled EFCC operatives.”
