All the roads leading to the Ekiti House of Assembly were condoned off by heavily armed policemen following the alleged plans by the anti-Fayose lawmakers to converge at the Assembly to commence the impeachment process against Governor Ayodele Fayose.
Apart from condoning off the roads, the police also surrounded the entire House of Assembly complex to prevent any official not on duty at the State
Secretariat that is located close to the Assembly from gaining entry.
Reports said several patrol vans and armoured personnel carrier were seen conspicuously in front of the Assembly while combat ready anti-riot policemen were on guard to wade off any form of violence.
However, members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, were said to have mobilized themselves, commercial drivers and motorcyclists otherwise called Okada riders to the Secretariat and NTA roads, while barricades were mounted to prevent human and vehicular accesses to the Assembly.
As at the time of filling this report, sources said there was still a heavy presence of security personal at the Assembly.
