President Buhari Meets With Service Chiefs, North-East Governors over Insecurity

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently having a meeting with the military service chiefs as well as Governors from the North-East over rising Insecurity in the region.

The meeting which is said to be a major step towards resolving the insecurity in the northeast also has vice-president Yemi Osinbajo, National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno, and chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari in attendance.

The Insecurity in the North East led by Islamist terror groups, Boko Haram and ISWAP has spread to the North West under the guise of Banditry and criminality.

About two weeks ago, elements of Boko Haram released a video showing fighters and materiel of the Terror group moving into Niger State.

The United States also issued a warning that elements of Al-Qaeda and Islamic State had infiltrated the Northwest and were planning to carry out attacks in Southern Nigeria.
