Prince Andrew Cancels Golf Trip To Spain Amid Ghislaine Maxwell Investigation

Prince Andrew has reportedly cancelled his annual golf trip to Spain following the arrest of Ghislaine Maxwell, the ex-girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein.

According to The Sun, the Duke of York has cancelled his annual golf holiday as he is too “nervous” to leave the UK after the US Justice Department lodged an official request to question him as a witness over his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

Prince Andrew has been accused separately by an Epstein “sex slave” of sleeping with her when she was 17, the Mirror reported.

Prince Andrew has denied the allegations and his lawyers have offered to provide a witness statement to the Justice Department.

The palace insider told the Mirror it’s “unlikely” Andrew will leave the UK in the foreseeable future and will “never travel to the US again.”

In June, the Department of Justice submitted a mutual legal assistance (MLA) request to the UK Home Office for Prince Andrew to answer questions about Epstein.

However, media lawyer Mark Stevens told The Sun that the request may be “a trap” to lure the royal over to the US.

“They know they can’t extradite him. What they’re trying to do is get him over voluntarily and, if they think they’ve got enough evidence, charge him there,” he told the publication.

“He’s not a witness, he’s a covert target of this operation.”
