The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, on Monday night met some senators elected on the platform of the party.

The closed-door meeting held in Abuja.

While the agenda of the meeting was not disclosed, the meeting is believed to have been convened to find a solution to the continued occupation of the Senate Presidency by Dr Bukola Saraki, who has defected to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Herald can report that the meeting is the fifth between Oshiomhole and APC senators since he assumed the party leadership on June 24.

Recall that Oshiomhole last week Monday met the APC senators a night before the Department of State Services (DSS) invaded the National Assembly Complex.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo condemned the invasion and sacked the Director General of the DSS, Lawal Musa Daura.

Also believed to be in attendance at the latest meeting are top security agents in the country.

Oshiomhole, a former Edo State Governor,  has vowed to ensure that Saraki vacates the presidency of the senate.

Just after Saraki announced his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oshiomhole had charged him to resign as the senate president and not “go away with another person’s crown”.
