Many Nigerians may have castigated Senator Elisha Abbo for alleged assault on a woman in a sex toy shop in Abuja, but his wife, Emily Eric is not buying the accusations.

Abbo is a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator representing Adamawa North senatorial district, and is the youngest member of the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly.

Premium Times on Tuesday published a 10-minute CCTV video that appears to show Abbo slapping a woman three times.

In the video that was allegedly shot on May 11, 2019, the woman had told the senator to “take it easy” and not physically assault the shop owner that had purportedly called him a drunk.

Many Nigerians called for the senator’s arrest over the incident.

However, the senator’s wife has taken to Facebook to defend her husband.

She wrote, “I stand with you babana. And we will always stand for truth.

“My husband is innocent of what people are saying against him.”

Abbo has also denied assaulting the woman, claiming that the video was doctored.
