Speakership: Gbajabiamila’s camp now has more than 50% support of Reps elect

The adopted candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Speaker at the 9th National Assembly, Femi Gbajabiamila, may e set for a smooth run at the polls as 164 members of his party resolve to back his candidacy.

The members-elect insist not to defy President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC on the choice of the majority leader as the next speaker.

Recall that, after months of speculations, the APC officially adopted Gbajabiamila for the Speakership role on Tuesday.

Lawmakers in the camp of the House Leader berates those calling for the nation’s 4th role from the North, noting that the North could not produce both the President of the Senate and Speaker at the same time.

The forum said it expected all the APC members to respect the party’s position on the zoning of the position.

According to them,  Gbajabiamila’s emergence would prevent what happened in the Eighth Assembly, where the policies of the government and that of the party were allegedly frustrated.
