Suntai Flown Back To the UK

Ailing Governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Danfulani Suntai, is to be flown back to the United Kingdom for further medical treatment today, a few weeks after he was suddenly brought back by loyalists to forestall his purported impeachment from office.

Governor Suntai was involved in a plane crash near the Yola Airport in Adamawa State in October 2012 and since then, he has been undergoing treatment for brain-related injuries in Specialists’ hospitals in Germany, US and the UK.

This latest development was confirmed by the Chief Press Secretary to acting Governor Garba Umar, Kefas Sule, confirmed that the state government had concluded all necessary arrangements for Suntai’s return to UK to continue his recovery.

“I can confirm to you that governor Suntai would be returning to London for further medication and the state government is footing the bill for the trip which includes a chartered flight to the UK”, he said.

The governor, who is expected to leave the country aboard a chartered aircraft and would be accompanied by his wife, Hauwa; his personal physician, Dr Kara; some family members and close personal aides.
