With the withdrawal of his security details by the police recently, the Speaker, Hon Aminu Tambuwal has decided to secure himself after all.
According to a news report aired on Sunday, about 60 members of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, are now protecting Tambuwal in Abuja who now follow him to all his destinations.
The OPC is a Yoruba nationalist organisation situated in western Nigeria.
Speaker Tambuwal had described the removal of his security detail by the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba as a a ploy to bring harm to his person whom he recently dragged to court over the withdrawal of his security details.
Tambuwal was said to have stormed the Federal High Court in Abuja along with his lawyers and members of the House at about 12:40 p.m on Friday to file a suit challenging the withdrawal of his security details.
Meanwhile, there could be plans being orchestrated by the PDP to bar the Speaker from entering his office when the house reconvenes by December 3.
A top Presidency source explained that the decision to strip Tambuwal of all the rights and privileges was taken based on legal submission.
