Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Tems, has recently been targeted with death threats amid swirling pregnancy rumors. The speculation ignited after her appearance at Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2024 London Fashion Week, where she wore a black dress fueling assumptions about an alleged pregnancy.
In an interview with The Beat 99.9 FM, Lagos, Tems disclosed that the rumor mill had taken a dark turn with death threats flooding her social media. The threats, she revealed, were centered around the alleged involvement of American rapper Future in the supposed pregnancy. Intriguingly, Tems clarified that she has never met Future, despite their joint work on the Grammy-winning track ‘Wait For U’ alongside Drake.
Tems expressed disbelief at the intensity of the reactions, stating, “I’ve never met him in my life. So it’s crazy.” The singer conveyed her astonishment at the escalation of the rumors to such extremes.
In a surprising twist, Tems also shared her admiration for Nigerian artist Asake, expressing a desire to direct one of his music videos. She emphasized that her interest in Asake is purely professional and artistic, asserting, “I love him. I can tell that he is very artistic.”
