Renowned Nigerian music video director, ThankGod Omori Jesam, widely known as TG Omori, has broken his silence on the speculations surrounding his professional relationship with Afrobeats artist Asake and his former frequent collaborator, Olamide, head of YBNL.

The talented cinematographer and Asake initially joined forces for the music video project “Organize” in 2022, marking the beginning of a fruitful partnership. Subsequently, they worked together on several other music videos. However, when Asake opted to engage a different director for his recent songs, rumors swirled regarding a potential rift between the two creative minds.

One of the speculations suggested that Asake may have been disappointed with the reception of his latest music video, “YOGA,” which did not garner as much attention as his previous works.

In a recent podcast interview for Zero Conditions, TG Omori decided to address the situation, dispelling the rumors and shedding light on the nature of his relationship with Asake and Olamide.

TG Omori clarified that their professional collaboration had been substantial, with a track record of approximately 12 music videos together. He underscored that their parting ways was not due to any personal conflicts but rather a natural evolution in their respective careers.

He expressed his support for artists having the freedom to explore new creative avenues and not feeling obligated to work exclusively with him.

TG Omori acknowledged that before he started collaborating with Olamide, the artist had worked with other directors and had given him the chance to express his creativity.
