Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has admitted that Chelsea’s recent form is the worst spell of his, otherwise illustrious, career.

He made this admission in an interview on Friday as the team gets set to meet Southampton in Saturday’s English Premier League week-8 game at Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho has been accused of performing poorly in his third season at all the different clubs he has coached, a view he regarded as “stupid”.

He said: “I define it as the worst period in my career, with the worst results in my career.

“I take it as a fantastic experience, but I don’t want to repeat it, I want to finish it tomorrow and start winning matches again. I think it comes too late, to come after 15 years is too late.

“It should happen after two, three or four but it is something that is helping me to be better. Not the hardest challenge, no, just the worst results.”

When asked if he would drop right back, Branislav Ivanovic, one of the players most criticised for Chelsea’s woes, he noted: “He likes to speak with me about mistakes. He doesn’t cry about it like some newspapers.”

The controversial Portuguese stated that he has continued to keep faith in him because he has no doubt Ivanovic is his best right-back and also no doubt he needs to improve his form.

The former Real Madrid tactician says that he is rotating his squad because he wants to get a winning formula.

“There are rotations; we always try to do a little bit.

“Mentally it is important, physically it is important, but there is also a part of the rotation which is because of the instability of the performances.

“You play well for 4 or 5 matches you get stability, you keep the core. It is normal.

“It is normal that you always try to find solutions and win the next game.”
