Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, Director-General for the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidential Campaign Organisation, has dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He made the announcement in a terse statement shared on Facebook on Saturday evening.

Jibrin, who previously represented Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State in the House of Representatives, said he has yet to decide on his next destination.

In the statement he personally signed, the ex-lawmaker said, “I have done my best for APC, it is time to move on. I will announce the new party I will be joining in 24 hours by the grace of God. I will give more details soon.”

Meanwhile, the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina has joined the 2023 presidential race on the platform of the APC.

Adesina was Minister for Agriculture under the Goodluck Jonathan-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government.

This is just as it emerged that 28 groups pooled resources to purchase the N100 million presidential Expression of Interest and Nomination forms of the APC for the ex-minister.

Rumour had been rife that Adesina was poised to join the race after weeks of pressure from some interest groups in the APC.
