Tinubu: “Nigeria’s unity paramount to me”

National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu says he remains committed to Nigeria’s unity.

He also appealed to the political elite and the masses to strive to maintain Nigeria’s unity.

Tinubu, who is a former Lagos state governor, spoke Friday during a reception to celebrate the marriage of Hunaisa Muhammad Bin Uthman, daughter of an Islamic scholar, Sheikh Muhammad Bin Uthman, the Chief Imam of Masjid-Al-Sahaba, Friday Mosque in Kano.

According to him, the nation’s enemies would stop at nothing to truncate Nigeria’s corporate existence.

He said that peace-loving Nigerians must resist their antics and rededicate themselves to promoting peaceful co-existence.

“The unity of Nigeria is paramount to me; let us continue to strive to maintain its unity and ensure the country does not break,” he stated.

Tinubu added, “Dividers will not stop in doing things they think can divide us, but the truth of the matter is we will not allow them to achieve their selfish interest.”

He hailed Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje as a staunch believer in Nigeria’s unity.

Lauding the governor’s development strides, the APC National Leader said, “From the airport to this place, I have seen so many developmental projects that add many positive things to Kano State.

“We are elated by your hard work and commitment towards developing the state. This is commendable.

“I urge you (Ganduje) to continue developing Kano State. We all have faith in you and your patriotic posture.”

On his part, Ganduje described Tinubu as a great leader whose commitment to promoting peace in the country was not in doubt.
