Delta State Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has chastised parents, urging them to take greater responsibility and care in raising their children even as he indicated that young males in the State were becoming homosexual prostitutes catering to clients from in Warri Local Government Area.

Addressing congregants at the First Baptist Church in Warri on Easter Sunday, Governor Uduaghan lamented, “These are our sons and men come to sleep with them. It is through the Edu Marshals Programme that we discovered them. We used to know about female harlots, now we have male harlots. Unfortunately they are young boys. There is much government can do, but there is more we can do as parents.”

Also commenting on the issue, a concerned parishioner, Mr. Frank Chukwuemeka said, “Government to should share some of the blame, if they had provided employment for these young boys, they would not be involved in prostitution. Is it not government that also patronizes most of their female counterparts? Maybe its the oil workers that are causing this strange practice to thrive because it is not a part of our culture from time.”
