Former Secretary to the State Government of Akwa Ibom, Umanah Okon Umanah has formally decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He did so at a rally attended by thousands of Akwa Ibomites in Uyo earlier this Friday evening.

Prominent APC chieftain including Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,  and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu were in attendance.

Umanah O Umanah said he left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) due to the pronouncement made by his former boss, Governor Godswill Akpabio, that the Uyo Senatorial Zone would not be allowed to present candidates for the 2015 elections.

Umanah O Umanah also disclosed that the PDP collected N11 million Naira from him and banked the funds even though the party later disqualified him.

The 2015 gubernatorial aspirant who is a former Akpabio confidant jokingly threatened to sue the State chapter of the PDP for Advance Fee Fraud.

He said, “Please refund my monies. I don’t want to involve my lawyers.”

On his defection he said further, “I’d like to thank the hundreds of thousands of supporters in Akwa Ibom that have told me that I am their hope against the dictatorship and impunity of the PDP.”
