President Muhammadu Buhari has explained why he and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo, were yet to move into the Aso Rock presidential villa, saying the place is being cleaned up for their occupation.

Buhari who spoke through his Senior Special Assistant on media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, said the contractors handling the job are working at their own pace and that the President and his Vice will soon move into the villa when the renovation is completed.

He said the President was not comfortable operating at his rented house but has no choice than to operate from there. “Am not saying he’s comfortable where he is at his rented house but he is operating from there, at the moment. When the villa is ready, he will move in.”

On when to expect the President to release the names of those that will be his ministers, Shehu said “I have no idea , but it is not something anybody will rush because you know that the National Assembly has to approve. When are you going to have National Assembly in place? That is the question. Unless you are governor Fayose, you cannot take your ministerial list to the outgoing parliament.”

President Buhari also met behind closed door for several hours with the outgoing National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, in his temporary office at Defence House.

It was gathered that the President has asked for the situation report on the issue of Boko Haram insurgency threatening the nation and other secure matters from the outgoing National Security Adviser.
