We Will Fight To Stabilise Nigeria—Army

The Commandant, Nigerian Army Armour School (NAAS), Brigadier-General Dike Nnaa, has avowed that the Nigerian soldiers were ready to defend the country’s territorial integrity, even with the last drops of their blood.

He made this comment while speaking at the 2014 Soldiers and Officers graduation ceremony on A1 Crewman Reconnaissance Automotive, A1 Crewman Tank Automotive, A1 Crewman Tank Weapons, Crewman Communication, A1 Crewman, Armour Battalion, Company, Armour Platoon, Platoon Sergeant Commanders’ Courses held at the NAAS in Bauchi, General Nnaa stated that it was only soldiers, who could defend Nigeria than anyone else.

“We don’t need to fold our arms while there is insecurity in the country. It is we, soldiers, who will fight to stabilise this country because it’s our constitutional duty and that is why we offer training here,” he stated.

He assured that officers and men of the Nigerian Army would be given best of practical trainings with a view to preparing them well to defend the country.

“You will discover that in battle, fear will be there when you see a colleague fall both on your left and right side. It is natural that fear will come, that is why it is our resolve now to give you the best of training. If you have the best of training and equipment your fear will reduce.

“Fear should be removed from our minds because we have a country to defend and we have one country to call our own and the country is Nigeria.”

He informed that men of the Joint Military Task Force drafted to the troubled North-East geo-political zone were making progress in tackling insurgency and have recaptured Maiha, Gombi, Mararaba and Mubi towns in Adamawa State, from the Boko Haram insurgents.

“They have driven the insurgents and as I am talking to you now, the insurgents are on the move,” he informed.
