Wizkid denies Peter Obi campaign performance, threatens legal action

Nigerian music superstar, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has debunked the report that he would be performing at a campaign rally of presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.

Wizkid debunked the report through his management.

A flier circulating online showed that Wizkid is billed to perform at a rally for Obi at Eagles Square, Abuja on February 18, a week before the presidential election.

The singer’s manager, Sunday Are described Wizkid’s reported planned performance as a “scam” and threatened to explore appropriate legal action against those creating and disseminating such information.

Taking to Instagram, Are wrote, “This is to inform the general public that this event led by @avotujohnson1st is a scam!!!

“Wizkid and his management know nothing about this event and accordingly, he will not perform at the said event as claimed, so please beware of this poster and information put out from its organizers as Wizkid and his management will not be liable for any damages.

“Appropriate legal action is currently being explored against the persons responsible for creating and disseminating this false information.”
