Woman Paraded by DSS for Impersonating Aisha Buhari run away from Cameras
A mild drama played out on Monday as a woman being paraded by the DSS for impersonating the wife of the President attempted to run away and hide from the glare of television camera.
The woman was being paraded by the Department of State Services (DSS) for allegedly using the name of the wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, to commit fraud.
The woman who was dressed in an Ankara outfit attempted to evade the cameras when she was paraded before reporters in the press briefing room at the DSS office in Abuja, covering her face with a purple veil as she was being led in.
As the event wore on, she attempted to disappear from the glare of camera by hiding under a table for a while before she was coerced out by DSS official present and she eventually unveiled herself.
After the drama, the DSS spokesperson, went ahead to address reporters present in the briefing room.
He alleged that the woman took advantage of the special treatment given to V.I.Ps in the State House to gain access to the office of the wife of the President, which she used to defraud her victims.
The DSS spokesperson also informed reporters present that the woman had paraded herself as wife of Kogi state Governor, Yahya Bello on November 22, to gain access into the State House and defraud some Nigerians.
The woman was further accused of defrauding an industrialist to the tune of N150 million.
The DSS spokesman further warned Nigerians to be wary of such fraud while noting that the service was still investigating the allegation.
The woman however denied the allegations against her, insisting she was innocent and a few people close to the government were aware of her activities.
