Spain have crashed out of the 2018 World Cup, losing to hosts Russia 3-4 on penalties after the match ended 1-1 at regulation time.
Russia’s Sergei Ignashevich scored a 12th-minute own goal to put Spain ahead before Artem Dzyuba equalised from the penalty spot to restore parity.
After 120 minutes of stalemate, a penalty ensued in which Spain’s Koke and Iago Aspas missed to send the 2010 world champions out of the competition.
