All Share Index Loses 0.57% as Senate Ministerial Screening Begins

The primary index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange moved down by 0.57% after gaining 0.22%  yesterday, losing 172 basis points to close at 30,058.40 basis points at the end of trading today. Market Capitalization for the market at the close of trading today was N10.33 trillion.

The total number of deals recorded on the floor increased by 1.03% after reducing by yesterday, even as all other indices ended the day negative. The total volume of shares traded on the floor reduced by 7.71% after dipping by 14.35% yesterday, while the total value of transactions recorded reduced by 6.63% against a 30.34% reduction recorded yesterday.

The top five most actively traded shares by volume on the exchange today were ACCESS, FIDELITYBK, ZENITHBANK, UBA and FBNH with a combined total of 64 million shares traded. ACCESS led the chart for the second day in a row with 15.5 million of its shares traded today, while FIDELITYBK followed with 14.1 million of its shares exchanged on the floor today. 13.1 million ZENITHBANK shares were traded today, while 12.9 million UBA shares were traded today and 7.5 million shares of FBNH were exchanged on the floor today.

Market breadth closed negative as SEPLAT led 23 Gainers against 24 Losers led by DANGCEM.

Year-To-Date currently stands at -13.27%.
