I approved Sanusi’s Meeting With Mr President – Kwankwaso

Governor of Kano state, Rabi’u Kwankwaso has revealed that he was influential in the recent reconciliation between President Goodluck Jonathan and Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II.

Kwankwaso addressed news men on Saturday and disclosed that he gave permission to the Emir to attend the reported peace meeting with the president.

He said he sees himself as a peace keeper and also ensured to continually contribute to maintaining peace in the country.

Noting that there are still some bad eggs; who are trying to intensify ethnicity differences, aimed at causing chaos, the governor pledged his loyalty to the restoration of amity.

“The Emir of Kano told me he was going to Abuja for a meeting with President Jonathan and I gave him approval to go. The Emir, after their meeting with the President, also briefed me all what happened there.

“I will be very happy if Villa will be inviting Kano people for reconciliation,’’ he said.

Kwankwaso also shed light on his plans, if elected president in 2015.

He emphasized on tackling the security threats in the country, as well as, maintain economic stability.

“My major concern, if elected as president of this country, is to tackle the current insecurity and ensure economic development in the country,” the governor said.
