A shooting incident occurred outside Canadian rapper Drake’s Toronto mansion in the early hours of Tuesday, leaving a security guard seriously injured.
According to the Toronto Police Department, officers responded to a call reporting a shooting in the upscale Bridle Path neighborhood around 2:09 a.m. ET. Upon arrival, they found a security guard suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery. The police have confirmed that the victim is not Drake, and the rapper’s team is cooperating with the investigation.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle, but no descriptions of the person or the car have been released. The motive behind the shooting is currently unclear.
The incident comes amidst an ongoing feud between Drake and fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar, who have been releasing diss tracks targeting each other in recent days. However, it is unknown if the shooting is connected to their rivalry.
