AY shared that he had sought the counsel of some senior colleagues in the comedy industry, seeking their guidance on mending the broken bond with Basketmouth. These respected peers were aware of the situation and were privy to AY’s sincere attempts at reconciliation. However, to AY’s surprise, they advised him to take a step back and stop forcing the reconciliation, especially when it was evident that Basketmouth remained unyielding.

Quoting the advice he received, AY said, “The bros knew about my beef with Basketmouth and at some point in time, they had to ask me to slow down. They were like: ‘You’re doing too much. You are putting in too much to make this thing work. Friendship is not by force.

Despite the discouraging response from his senior colleagues, AY was determined to mend the relationship, even referencing his efforts during one of his stand-up comedy routines. He shared that during his last performance, he made a special gesture on stage, saying, “My guy. How’s my guy? This is my guy. If you see this guy, tell him he’s my guy.” However, despite his efforts, the aftermath was not what he had hoped for, as rumors and tensions continued to escalate.

Recounting the aftermath, AY expressed his disillusionment, stating, “And the following morning, everywhere exploded again. ‘We are not friends. We are not that. We are not this.
