About 40 people were killed while many women were sexually assaulted when Bandits attacked communities in Faskari local government area of Katsina state on Tuesday.

The bandits stormed villages in the local government on motorcycles and operated freely for hours killing scores of mostly elderly men alongside women and children. Most of the women were allegedly raped before they were Killed.
According to a report by Daily post, some young women who survived the attack were also raped. The communities affected include; Kadisau, Maigora, Kabalawa, Kwakware, Raudama and Unguwar Wahabi.
According to one of the villagers;
They abused some young girls and married women while setting houses and food stores on fire.”
They also robbed the villagers before they rustled domestic animals, especially cows and sheep”.
The villagers said the bandits promised to come back for more attacks after the victims of Tuesday’s attack were buried on Wednesday.
Spokesperson for the Kaduna State police command, SP Gambo Isah however assured the villagers of their safety.
“The Area Commander in Funtua, DPOs and military personnel are currently in the area to ensure maximum security during the burial and afterwards.” He said.
