Reality TV star Doyinsola Anuoluwapo David, popularly known as Doyin, has candidly shared that she informed her mother after losing her virginity, leading to an open and supportive conversation between them. The Big Brother Naija alum disclosed this during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, co-hosted by actor Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, also known as Nedu.
Doyin expressed the importance of parents creating an environment where their children feel comfortable discussing topics like sex education. She emphasized that her decision to talk to her mother about her experience aimed to bridge the communication gap that often exists between parents and their children on such matters.
In her revelation, Doyin recalled telling her mother about the bittersweet experience of losing her virginity. Instead of judgment, her mother offered advice and guidance on making the experience more pleasurable. The reality star highlighted the significance of parents being open to discussing sex-related topics, as this would prevent misinformation from outsiders.
Doyin underscored, “Parents need to create that kind of environment where their kids can open up to them. There’s nothing I cannot say to my mum.” She further shared an instance when she felt discomfort during sex and approached her mother for guidance, demonstrating the importance of fostering trust and communication between parents and their children.
