Buhari heads to London for “routine medical check-up”
President Muhammadu Buhari will proceed to London, the United Kingdom on Tuesday for a “routine medical check-up”, the presidency has said.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina disclosed this in a statement Monday evening.
He said that the president would first hold a meeting with the nation’s service chiefs in the morning before embarking on the trip.
“He is due back in the country during the second week of April, 2021,” the statement further read.
The medical trip is coming amid a threat by the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) to embark on a strike on April 1.
Last Monday, the president blamed the unfriendly attitude of health workers to patients as one of the factors responsible for medical tourism.
