The chief spokesman for the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Organisation, Yunusa Tanko, has debunked speculation that its flag bearer, Peter Obi, is going about with his brother’s University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) academic certificate.
According to Yunusa, some political hirelings have been working hard to tarnish Obi’s character, and among them is Dr Abayomi Arambabi, who he said dubiously continues to identify himself as a member and Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party when he knows he is no longer a member of the party.
The spokesperson, who made this statement in Abuja, noted that Arambabi is an expelled non-member of the party, and media houses should stop addressing him as a member of the Labour Party.
“Chief Lamidi Apapa and Arambabi have been going about using the party’s name for their own gain and endlessly castigating our flag bearer, who we are proud to say is the most popular and loved Nigerian politician today because they are not members of our party.”
Speaking about their accusation that Peter Obi is impersonating his late elder brother by using his certificate, he explained that Obi’s late elder brother was at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, years ahead of Obi and studied Computer Science, while Obi studied Philosophy.
“In one of his fictional claims, they alleged that Obi was impersonating his deceased older brother, a farcical and slapstick comedy from hell. Obi’s eldest brother is alive, and one of his senior brothers who passed away was at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, years before Obi and studied Computer Science, while Obi pursued Philosophy,” he clarified.
Yunusa also stated that Arambabi’s claims that Obi is after his life are laughable and baseless allegations because the LP Flag-bearer has a harmless and non-violent disposition to politics, even in extreme provocation, such as the blatant stealing of his mandate, which is evident to all.
The Herald had reported that amidst President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Chicago State University (CSU) certificate forgery saga, Peter Obi held a press conference challenging Tinubu to reintroduce himself to Nigerians and make his records clear to all.
