Coronavirus: UCH Chairman Finally Tests Negative

Shettima Bagudu, the Chairman of the Board of Management of the University College Hospital, Ibadan, has tested negative for coronavirus.

 

The chairman had tested positive twice after falling ill at the beginning of the hospital’s last board meeting on March 24, and admitted for treatment.

 

The hospital ran a second test on April 8, which still returned positive.

 

However, in a statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Toye Akinrinlola, further test revealed that the chairman finally tested negative.

 

He said,

“I have the pleasure to announce that after three weeks of being in quarantine, the Chairman of the Board of Management of the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Alhaji Shettima Bagudu, has tested negative to the coronavirus.

 

“Two tests were carried out on him and both returned negative. With this, he now has a clean bill of health.

 

“The Chairman has urged Nigerians to observe the guidelines laid down by the World Health Organization and the National Center for Disease Control. He thanked the UCH community for their support and encouragement during the trying period.

 

“He also expressed his appreciation to the CMD, Prof Jesse Otegbayo, the management of the Hospital and all the medical personnel that attended to him while in the quarantine.”
