De-Registration: IPAC Inaugurates Caretaker Committee in Katsina

The Katsina State chapter of Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), has inaugurated a Caretaker Committee to oversee its affairs following de-registration of 74 political parties by Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).

Alhaji Ibrahim Saude, Chairman of the committee made this known in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Katsina on Wednesday.

Saude said that members of the committee were drawn from the remaining political parties in the state.

“We were directed by IPAC National Headquarters to inaugurate a Caretaker Committee and wait for further directives before a substantive election is held,” Saude added.

The chairman pledged that the new leadership will be free and fair to all IPAC members.

According to him, the committee would also work with INEC and security agencies in the state.
