Both teams came to an agreement late into the night and arsenal are trying to close the deal as we speak.

The London club has requested for an extension so that they can finalize an agreement with the England star. If all goes well, the deal should announced in a few hours.

With Olivier Giroud out till next year , Yaya Sanogo is the only other out-and-out striker available.  Arsenal had no choice but to go back to the transfer market  and buy another striker.

Welbeck is considered to be surplus to Van Gaal’s  squad, with the imminent arrival of Falcao confirmed that he needed to find a new club before the window closes. The England international attracted the likes of Sunderland and Tottenham but it looks like he is going to be a Gunner.
