The Forum of Progressive Governors, on Friday, said it was not worried about Senator Ike Ekweremadu emerging Deputy President of the Senate, describing it as ‘immaterial.’

The governors, elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated this while briefing newsmen after a closed-door meeting in Abuja.

According to the Chairman of the forum, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, it is immaterial that a PDP legislator got the slot of deputy president of the Senate.
Okorocha also said the perceived negligence of the South-East zone in the sharing of principal posts in the National Assembly would be resolved soon.

“We deliberated on a lot of issues, one is that we have resolved to strengthen our party and prepare for the forthcoming elections, especially the ones of Kogi and Bayelsa states.

“We are also very happy about the development in the National Assembly as peace is gradually returning to it.

“We are very happy that what has taken place in the House of Representatives will soon take place in the Senate and we resolved to make our party bigger and bigger than what it is now.

“So, we welcome interested parties to join us in building the Nigeria of our dream. Peace will return, and we hope that very soon, we will see total peace as we saw in the House.

“In the course of this process, things will take its natural cause on Senator Ike Ekweremadu, the issue of the South-East, everything will be resolved in the course of the peace process,” Okorocha said.
