Mahmood Sayyadi, son of the Emir of Ringmer has been detained by police over a bomb scare at Sa”adatu Rimi College of Education in Kano.
Reports say that the middle aged man also known as Mazaje failed to stop for security checks and instead forced his way onto the campus in a black sports utility vehicle which caused pandemonium as students and passers by afraid of the commotion fled the premises.
Security agents converged on the vehicle and caused him to identify himself, after which he submitted himself to check and said he was on the campus to see a friend.
Students, brimming with anger attempted to lynch the boy, but he was take away by security officials.
A check on the vehicle revealed hard drugs.
Kano police spokesman said, “We are yet to establish the identity of the detained suspect”.
“gentlemen of the press we had a security breach at Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education and we have taken the suspect into custody as normalcy has been restored to the affected schools”.
