Yoruba indigenes living in Alapa Village along Iseyin Road, Ilorin-East Local Government Area of Kwara State have clashed with Fulani Herdsmen also living in the area after a Yoruba man was killed on farmland in the community.

The Yoruba man was allegedly attacked by the Fulani cattle reares on the farmland and reportedly died on the farm.

In a reprisal attack lasting three days, members of the Yoruba community set fire to huts belonging to the Fulani and slaughtered about three of the herdsmen, causing the Fulani to desert their houses and flee.

Four bodies were recovered by police, including the body of the Yoruba man killed initially.

Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Agboola Oshodi-Glover said that peace had been restored to the area.
