Hilda Baci: 10 Nigerians that’ve broken Guinness World Records in the last 10 years

Nigerians on social media are currently celebrating the feat achieved by compatriot chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, who on Monday broke the Guinness World Record for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual”.

When Hilda Baci hit the 87 hours 50 minutes mark, she surpassed the current record holder Lata Tandon, who set the 87 hours 45 minutes record in India in 2021. Before Tandon, the world record for the longest cooking marathon previously belonged to Rickey Lumpkin from Los Angeles, California, USA, at 68 hours, 30 minutes, and 1 second.

The Nigerian chef aims to cook for 96 hours and will complete the task at 5 pm on Monday.

Many Nigerians, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, have been congratulating Hilda Baci since the feat was achieved.
