Rising Insecurity in Nigeria may finally receive some much needed attention as reports from the Presidency indicates that President Buhari is set for a total overhaul of the security architecture in Nigeria.

According to the National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno (rtd), President Buhari is tired of the present security situation in the country and has expressed his dissatisfaction with the status quo.

Monguno who expressed the President’s view while briefing press men at the end of a National security council meeting said, the President has planned to announce a major overhaul of the various security agencies.

According to the NSA, President Buhari told the military service chiefs that their best is not good enough.

He said the Nigerian public has lost total confidence in the security agencies and he as President is determined to restore the lost confidence.

There have been repeated calls from different quarters including the National Assembly and rights groups for the President to sack the service chiefs, citing rising cases of Insecurity in the country.

They affirmed that the service chiefs have done their best and they have no more to give as attacks from Boko Haram, Bandits, Kidnappers, and armed Herdsmen continue to increase across the country.
