Operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command have arrested five robbery suspects for harassing and dispossessing passersby of their valuables at Agege Underbridge.
The RRS disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
The suspects were identified as Akeem Alabi (30), Toba Bolu (20), Abah Abdullahi (35), Sulaiman Mohammed (32) and Yusuf Alabi (30).
According to the statement, they were apprehended at 10:30 pm on Thursday, January 18, at Agege Underbridge by RRS operatives acting on credible intelligence.
“Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has stated that there would be more sting operations in the area to reduce robbery in the area.
“The Commander, acting on the directives of the Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, has directed that the suspect be charged to court immediately,” the statement read in part.
