There has been an explosion which destroyed a section of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipeline located in Ogbe-Ijoh in Warri South West Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta state.
The explosion is the suspected work of the militants who call themselves the Niger Delta Avengers.
The pipeline was said to have been destroyed using dynamite sticks and was carried out on Friday morning.
According to Sahara Reporters, a traditional ruler in the area who pled anonymity confirmed the blast, He also added that houses in his area were shaken to their foundation from the blast.
He bemoaned the attacks stating that the militants responsible were not only harming the nation but the next generation of unborn Nigerians.
According to the traditional ruler, the blast could set back oil production which is already precarious as it is.
