President Muhammadu Buhari had defiantly stated that any Nigerian national willing to leave the country for greener pastures is welcome to do so.

The President was speaking when he received the Kwara State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants in Abuja.

He did urge Nigerians to show some patriotism and he cited the example of Major General Idiagbon who was his Vice, during his first reign as Military head of state.

“The late Major General Tunde Idiagbon was a very rare example of what loyalty to the fatherland and to a superior, should be.” Buhari said

“Tunde was strong, loyal and extremely committed to the cause of positively changing the narrative about Nigeria, which the administration set out to do at that time”.

“What I said long ago in 1984 is still valid today. We have no other country but Nigeria.

“Others who feel they have another country may choose to go. We will stay here and salvage it together.” Buhari concluded

It is not uncommon to find young people or other Nigerians clamouring to leave due to the mistrust in the government and the system put in place.

The country has been suffering something of a brain drain across all sectors and the Federal government has been actively trying to stop it.
