COVID-19: Ondo Records Index Case As Numbers Spike To 210

Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has announced that the state recorded its index case of coronavirus pandemic on Friday, April 3.

The Governor disclosed this on his official Twitter handle on Friday.

He said,

 

“We have just received confirmation of our first positive COVID-19 case this evening. The infected person is currently under isolation and would be monitored.

 

“We have activated all necessary protocol to locate all contacts and we’ve been working closely with NCDC.”

 

The state Commissioner for Information, Mr Donald Ojogo, on Friday, also confirmed the development.

 

He said;

“It is with great concern that the Ondo State Government announces the index case. A suspected case tested positive to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
