Renowned constitutional lawyer, Ben Nwabueze, dies at 94

Renowned constitutional lawyer, Professor Ben Nwabueze has died aged 94.

Nwabueze, a former Secretary-General of apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, died on Sunday evening, according to a statement issued by his family.

In the statement signed by its spokesman, Eni Nwabueze, the family said the legal icon died in his home.

“With great sadness, we announce the passing on to celestial glory of our patriarch, Professor B. O. Nwabueze SAN, NNOM, CON, pioneer Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Oduah Afo-na-isagba of Atani, Anambra State, on Sunday, October 29, 2023, aged 94.

“He lived an exemplary life of consequence,” the family statement read.
