Restaurant Review: Green & Grill House by Foodie In Lagos

4 Min Read

Today’s review is on Green & Grill House’s (“GGH”) Stir-fry Shrimp Couscous and Oven Grilled Chicken Wings – sounds yummy right?

First of all, very busy people have time to cook and pack their lunch to work and trusting Lagos, there is always someone thinking about how to create services to cater to such. Its even worse when you are trying to eat right and be fit especially with all those sinful bukkas around the offices and the mediocre lunch provided in office cafeterias. Once upon a time, I was trying to be FitFam and found out about GGH. Green & Grill House is a healthy meals outlet and started out doing deliveries of salads and expanded to having an actual location where you can now sit in and eat your meals.

I had added GGH to my Blackberry Messenger and everyday they would send a broadcast of their meals and salads. For a long time, besides the salads, they only had the oven grilled chicken wings and potatoes and I just randomly decided to check and was surprised to see there were two (2) new additions to the menu:

  1. Stir-fry Shrimp Couscous and Oven Grilled Chicken Wings (N1,500); and
  2. Stir-fry Shrimps Couscous and Grilled Tilapia (N2,000)

Trying to get back into FitFam mode and when I saw on their Instagram page that they were doing free deliveries to Lagos Island for the day, I called them immediately (everyone loves freebies!). Once I made the call for my order, it was with me in 40 minutes just in time for Lunch. Impressive!

When I got my food, the Aroma first slapped me because it smelled so so so good and it did not help because I was so hungry.

Packaging: The meal came well packaged in a wine plastic disposable rectangular bowl with a transparent cover.

Portion of Meal: I guess since they promote healthy eating it probably applies to the portion as it was a sizeable portion

What was in the Bowl: Three (3) good sized spicy chicken wings, Couscous with Shrimps (I looked for the shrimps and would have revolted if I didn’t see any. LOL), Spring Onions, Green Pepper, Onions, Carrots and some Sweet Corn

General Comments & Taste: It was so delicious. I am not even a fan of Couscous and it’s an alternative to rice which is heavier in Carbs but this meal by GGH was 10/10. I even had to have someone else taste it in case I was dreaming and her reaction was priceless.

It was not soggy or hard and was just the right texture and I delightfully enjoyed my meal. I made sure I ate slowly just so that the food would not finish on time and so that my tummy perfectly understood the goodness it was experiencing at that moment. LOL.. True story

By the time i got to the bottom of the bowl, I was every sad. This meal would not be forgotten by FIL for a long while…. I can still taste it and smell it

No Mercy!
