Retired Commissioner of Police In EFCC Net After Jumping Bail On A N10 million Fraud Charge

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has set Thursday, May 21 to arraign a retired Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Sambo before the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Abuja over a one-count charge of criminal breach of trust and obtaining the sum of N10 million under false pretense. 

The retired Commissioner of Police along with one Nuhu Bello Dabai, the Managing Director/CEO of Ideal Sunbeam International Company Limited connived in the scheme claiming the need to defray both the survey and other preliminary expenses involved in the execution of a project worth over N1 billion.

The Project was purportedly awarded by the Zamora State Governor, Abdul Aziz Abubakar Yari.

The retired Commissioner of Police upon arrest was however granted an administrative bail on January 19, 2015.

He proceeded to jump the bail issued by the Anti-graft agency on April 7, 2015 and was re-arrested on Wednesday 3rd May, 2016.
