Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen winger Karim Bellarabi – and the impressive young German would certainly be a useful capture for the Blues. Creative and capable of going past players, Bellarabi is perhaps set to be the player that Mourinho had hoped Salah was.

Out) John Obi Mikel

Chelsea need better than the ageing Nigerian as cover for Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas in central midfield – although Mourinho is probably likely to view the end of the season as the time for Mikel to be moved on. Still, it makes sense for him to end his career elsewhere, with the bonus of more regular first team action.

In) Sergio Busquets (Barcelona)

The reports linking him with Stamford Bridge may be slightly optimistic – but Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets would be the perfect capture for the Blues. Capable of playing in that midfield and beefing it up, whether alongside Matic or Fabregas, Busquets is one of the most intelligent footbalers of his generation and would add plenty to any team.

Out) Marko Marin

Marko Marin Sevilla

The German winger, signed on a free transfer from Werder Bremen, has never proven to be up to it in a Chelsea shirt and is currently spending the season on loan at Fiorentina – although there is some talk that deal could be ripped up in January. If so, Chelsea need to try and get Marin off the books permanently.

In) Andrej Kramaric (Rijeka)

It is clear that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho rates the young Croatian, with the talk being that the Blues will soon tie up a £7.5 million deal for Kramaric. With Didier Drogba as one of the club’s three senior strikers, the club could certainly do with a young option in attack.
